The Anachronistic Ocean

Animated introductory short

Written by

Jacqueline A. Britton

CAMERA SKIMMING OVER EMPTY OCEAN.

SHIPS, BOATS AND RAFTS APPEAR AS THEY ARE NAMED.

NARRATOR

The Ocean is eternal.

It makes no difference to the Ocean whether what floats on it is a super-modern tanker,

Or an Asian Junk.

The ocean is equally unsurprised by a Viking raider

Or a two-man canoe.

Pirate ships

Or Privateers.

It makes no difference through the years

HOURGLASS COMES OUT OF CENTER OF SCREEN

The sands of time flow onward down,

But on the ocean, the clock turns around

HOURGLASS BEGINS ROTATING SLOWING, SO THAT SAND RATHER "DANCES" IN MIDDLE OF EACH SIDE.

All are welcome in this place

Out of time and out of space

The Sands of Time just have no clue

Of when or where or what to do

HOURGLASS REDUCES AND DISAPPEARS INTO CENTER OF SCREEN

So grab your craft,

A boat or raft,

DIFFERENT FORMS OF CRAFTS BEGIN TO STREAM INTO THE PICTURE FROM THE SIDES, FLOATING TOGETHER OVER THE SWELLS.

Enjoy your trip and feel the motion

As you paddle on

The Anachronistic Ocean.

CAMERA PULLS BACK, FARTHER AND UPWARD, UNTIL IT’S ALMOST INTO OUTER SPACE—BUT NOT QUITE. UP IN THE DISTANCE, ABOVE THE LAYERED STRATOSPHERE, IS THE SPACE STATION WITH THE SHUTTLE DOCKED ONTO THE BOTTOM PART. A "FOREIGN" CRAFT SWOOPS IN AND DOCKS ONTO THE UPPER PART.

While up overhead

And out in space,

Another meeting may take place.

Come watch and laugh,

Enjoy the view;

Scatvia is here for you.

CAMERA PULLS FURTHER BACK AND "BREAKS AWAY" FROM CURRENT PLANE OF TRAVEL TO SHOW SCATSAT, THE SCATONIAN SEA AND THE ELEMENTS AS SEEN ON SCATMAP, AS PICTURE FREEZES AND FLATTENS INTO PUBLISHABLE SCATMAP AS WORDS APPEAR ON ITS SURFACE.
